  • Description: The primary role of a Career Development Coach is to support the onboarding, professional growth, and career pathway development of new and existing employees, in tandem with managers and supervisors. The Career Development Coach plays an instrumental role in the Career Development Coaching Program, which was created to increase employee retention and engagement across the company.                                                                                                             Technical Responsibilities of the Job
    • Meet with a specified number of new hires and existing employees per week
    • Complete a comprehensive intake process in person or via Webex, focusing on building trust with each employee as well as company leadership
    • Review and work with employee evaluations, professional development plans, and interest and personality assessments
    • Identify areas of focus for employee growth and development based on supervisor feedback
    • Identify employee’s specific professional goals and co-create a plan to achieve them
    • Provide detailed coaching session reports to employees and supervisors to ensure consensus on action items
    • Coordinate employee training needs with the Training Department, and assist with communication between the Training Department, the employee, and their supervisor
    • Maintain consistent communication with employees in caseload, including meeting reminders and follow-up reports
    • Maintain updated files on each employee
    • Participate in the continued development of the Coaching Program and a more formalized Mentorship Program
    • Communicate and coordinate with different departments and programs, including Human Resources and the Advanced Learning Program (ALP)
    • Partner in the research of Continued Education Programs
    • Improve the Employee Engagement Survey results
    • Reduce turnover and improve internal promotion percentages
    • Align coaching work with Lean Practices
    • Work proficiently in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • Read, write, and comprehend advanced instructions, involved correspondence, and memos
    • Navigate complex workplace relationships thoughtfully with a solution-focused approach
    • Uphold confidentiality practices
    • Other duties as assigned by Manager

    • Apply coaching practices and excellent communication to improve employee retention and engagement
    • Work to understand company culture, dynamics, and varying interpersonal workplace relationships
    • Commit to learning about the work of the employees to ensure coaching practices align with the needs of the job
    Leadership Responsibilities
    • Self-leadership capabilities – the ability to lead yourself to meet your goals and those of the company
    • Ability to lead from within the team, and to offer leadership assistance and guidance to other employees
    • Lead in the development of a new program
    • Bachelor degree preferred, and two or more years of experience working as a career coach or counselor
    • Coaching and Mentoring in the Workplace training and experience
