  • Description: Commercial HVAC Field Supervisor
    • Supervises activities of workers engaged in fabricating sheetmetal, installing, and repairing HVAC systems in Commercial buildings.
    • Receives directions and “Scope of Job Activities” from Area Supervisor in meetings held for that purpose. While the Job Supervisors duties and responsibilities are fixed, changes or alterations of is/her duties may change from time to time.
    • Directly supervises 3 to 25 employees in installations including training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
    • Submits to Warehouse, requisitions for materials; schedules material deliveries to various job sites.
    • Updates and maintains accurate material requisition lists recording dates and delivery locations.
    • Initiates weekly “Quality/Control” checks on jobs underway in his/her area.
    • Updates and maintains accurate material lists on all active jobs.
    • Manages field labor and maintains crews that can produce the greatest possible profit level for the company; increases and decreases labor costs by continually monitoring crew’s performance levels.
    • Gives the field division manager updates for the weekly Labor meetings and provides labor and billing updates and forecasts.
    • Initiates “hands-on” training with all new employees. When required, puts on tools and participates in work activities in an effort to “off-set” supervision costs.
    • Initiates safety training and keeps field staff current on all safety issues.
    • Regularly communicates with Contractors Superintendents and maintains a professional and profitable business relationship at all times.
    • Oversees the physical inventory of materials assigned to his/her job sites, or storage containers, as required by Warehouse manager or his/her assignee.
    • Schedules air conditioning installation assignments to all workers assigned to his/her crews.
    • Attends classes and seminars on HVAC service and system design to update skills when required
    • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
    • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
    • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
    • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
    • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
    • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
    • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    • Four to seven years Commercial HVAC experiences.
    • Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as basic algebra and geometry.
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Mechanical knowledge, technical procedures, and government regulations and codes.
    • Possess a valid driver’s license
    • Ability to read blueprint, charts, and designs
    • Problem solving and quick conflict resolution skills.
    • Self-starter with ability to work independently
