  • Description: Villara is currently looking for a Fleet Manager who is a dynamic leader and who lives and breathes to engage, develop and advance our employees. The successful candidate will manage a fleet of over 250 vehicles and a high performing team of Mechanics and Maintenance Technicians.  The successful candidate will have a solid understanding and established experience with the following:
    • Solid leadership experience in an operational environment
    • Hiring, engaging, developing employees with a focus on building individual and team capabilities
    • Experienced in leading teams of 10-25 employees
    • Ability to manage labor hours worked towards achieving demanding budget goals while sustaining Safety and Quality
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks – understands how to follow up to complete time sensitive tasks – a self-starter who requires little oversight
    • Ensures compliance for all Safety rules including training and licensing on Material Handling Equipment and DOT rules
    • Experience with LEAN processes is a plus
    • Ability to work alongside fellow team-mates in a challenging and demanding environment where the focus is on our customer and on our team’s success
    The duties of this position include:
    • Develops and maintains efficient shop performance standards, procedures and policies.
    • Oversees DOT compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet.
    • Develops and maintains department budget.
    • Develops and maintains outside vendor and service provider relationships.
    • Directs repair, service and maintenance of company vehicles.
    • Develops and supervises vehicle preventive maintenance schemes.
    • Reviews periodic repair procedures to ensure completeness, accuracy and efficiency.
    • Recommends vehicles meant for replacement and arranges for necessary disposal or auction.
    • Interviews, trains and disciplines subordinate staff members.
    • Assesses training for staff and personnel.
    • Investigates vehicle accidents, negotiates for any possible settlements and authorizes any repairs or maintenance of company vehicles
    Education and Qualifications
    • Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.
    • In depth knowledge of auto rental and leasing programs
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skill
    • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
    • 4 years of automotive experience in a managerial capacity
    • 2 years of supervisory experience in fleet operations and repair and maintenance of vehicles
    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.
    • In depth knowledge of auto rental and leasing programs
    •  Strong interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
