  • Description: The Finance team is seeking an ideal team player for the role of Sr Accountant, who will support the team in the day-to-day financial and management accounting for Villara.                                                                                                                   Key Responsibilities · Develop relationships with Finance and Business Operations team members, company managers and supervisors, other office staff, Controller, and Chief Financial Officer that create and support an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. · Contribute hands on to the month-end and year-end closing process for the company to meet all financial reporting deadlines while assuring timely completion of all other department tasks and projects. · Contribute substantially to the preparation of all monthly General Ledger account schedules and reconciliations along with all journal entries. · Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Prepare ad hoc reports as requested. · Prepare complex financial analyses and communicate results effectively to both financial and non-financial leaders and managers. · Work closely with CPA’s, banks, appraisers, and insurance companies to complete the company’s annual financial statement audit, collateral examinations, appraisals, and policy audits throughout the year. · Take a lead role in providing support to company managers and supervisors on financial issues and questions. · Recommend and implement accounting policies, practices, systems, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the timely, accurate recording of all financial transactions in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles. Develop and maintain written documentation for all accounting processes in the company. · Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the company’s accounting and financial reporting processes, increasing accuracy, quality, and ease of understanding, while reducing cost and time to close. · Review all payroll activity and manage General Ledger uploads. Oversee key payroll reconciliations and reporting for tax, workers compensation and 401k plans. · Prepare and timely file all Federal and state payroll and property tax returns along with all required information returns. · Learn and stay current on the responsibilities of other Finance team members. Fulfill the responsibilities of other team members in their absence. · Complete special projects as requested.                                                                  Education and Experience · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in accounting · Proven effectiveness in financial and managerial accounting in a complex, fast-paced, dynamically growing, multi-site environment. · Construction, manufacturing, and distribution experience are each strong pluses. · Advanced level Microsoft Excel required. · Experience working with a major ERP system, such as SAP or Oracle.   Excel and Wonderlic test given along with our career mapping tool assessment Prevue.
